Special Education

Union Hill School District works diligently to meet the diverse needs of our students.  All students who qualify for Special Education services receive an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that outlines how the district will meet their unique needs. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that students with disabilities be provided with a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Special education is specifically designed for students whose needs cannot be met without accommodation and/or modification of the general education instructional program.

Our Special Education Department offers a continuum of services.  We are  committed to supporting students by establishing equitable programs and inclusive environments that ensure active participation in the learning process and equal access to common core curriculum and grade level standards.
