School Lunch

Beginning in School Year (SY) 2022–23, California became the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for school children. California’s Universal Meals Program (Universal Meals) is designed to build on the foundations of the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP).

All students, regardless of household income, are eligible for free breakfast and lunch at Union Hill School District daily. Our school district is charged approximately $23,500.00 per month to serve both breakfast and lunch to all students. To help offset the cost of this program, we are asking ALL families to complete the Application for Free and Reduced Meals. Additionally, every qualified student earns our school district up to $2000 in funding towards our ELOP Enrichment Program.

Please complete this application whether or not you think your family qualifies as it helps us determine where our reimbursement funds come from. Full participation could help this program remain in place for our students.

Paper applications are sent home at the beginning of each school year and are available in the school office. Or, you may complete the online application below.
