Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention, or RTI, is a strategy for early intervention within the general education system. Union Hill School District utilizes the  RtI system to identify students at risk for poor learning outcomes, monitor student progress, provide evidence-based interventions and adjust the intensity or nature of those interventions depending on a student’s responsiveness.

The essential components for RTI include:

  • Screening and Identification
  • Multi-tiered Interventions
  • Increasing Intensity of Intervention
  • Evidence-based intervention
  • Monitoring Student Progress
  • Informed or Data Based Decisions
